How much does a Meta Ads agency charge in Mexico?
Advertising on Facebook and Instagram has three costs: the ad spend you pay Meta, the agency's management and the creative. How agencies charge, what drives the price and what the service should include so you don't pay for likes.
Meta Ads works like any digital advertising: the question "how much does an agency charge?" hides several separate costs. On Facebook and Instagram there are three: ad spend, which you pay Meta; management, which is the agency's work; and creative, the videos and images that need replacing every few weeks. Comparing quotes without separating those three is comparing apples to oranges.
The three costs of advertising on Meta
Ad spend works as an auction, just like on Google, but with one important difference: nobody here is searching for what you sell, so Meta decides who sees your ad. According to Meta's help page on ad auctions, the ad with the highest total value wins, combining your bid, the estimated likelihood that the person takes the action you want, and ad quality. In practice, a good creative costs you less than a bad one at the same bid. You set a daily or lifetime budget, and the VAT on your invoice is added to what you spend.
Management means setting up measurement, choosing audiences, building campaigns, reviewing the numbers every week and moving budget to what works. Creative is the part that matters most on Meta and the one most agencies leave out of the quote: without new pieces, the same ad gets shown to the same people over and over and the cost climbs.
What does it cost to show your ad in Mexico?
It's worth being honest here: there's no public, reliable figure for cost per thousand impressions (CPM) or per click on Meta in Mexico. The tables going around online are vendor averages, they mix countries and industries, and they don't agree with each other. The real price depends on factors that change from one account to the next:
- The size and competition of your audience: reaching a whole city doesn't cost the same as reaching business owners in one neighborhood.
- The season: during Hot Sale, Buen Fin and December many more brands compete and the auction rises.
- The campaign objective: asking Meta for messages or sales costs more per impression than asking for reach, because it looks for the people most likely to act.
- Creative quality: an ad people watch through and don't hide wins the auction for less.
The serious way to find out is to measure it: one or two weeks on a moderate budget, with the pixel properly set up, and read the cost per message or per form in your own account. That number, not the CPM, tells you whether advertising makes you money. Meanwhile, you can see what your competitors are running in the Meta Ad Library.
How agencies charge for management
| Model | How it works | What to watch for |
|---|---|---|
| Flat monthly fee | A set amount for the work, regardless of how much you spend | That it states how many campaigns and creatives are included |
| Percentage of spend | The agency takes a share of what you spend on Meta | The agency earns more when you spend more |
| Hybrid | A base fee plus a percentage | Same risk as the percentage, to a lesser degree |
| Per lead | You pay for each message or form | It rewards cheap contacts, not good customers |
Mexico has no published reference rate; each agency quotes its own way. As an international comparison, US agency OuterBox reports in its paid media management pricing guide that the percentage model usually lands between 10% and 20% of monthly spend, with a minimum fee. On Meta there's something to add that weighs less on Google: creative production. If the quote doesn't say who makes the videos and images and how many per month, that cost will show up later.
What good Meta Ads management should include
- Pixel and Conversions API set up, with the events that matter: WhatsApp message, form, booking or purchase.
- Custom audiences (visitors, people who messaged you or watched your videos) and lookalikes of your best customers, excluding those who already bought.
- A creative for each format: 9:16 for reels and stories, 4:5 and 1:1 for the feed, with text inside the area the app doesn't cover.
- Each version assigned to its placement, with the Advantage+ settings that crop the piece or rewrite the copy turned off.
- Click-to-WhatsApp or instant form campaigns when your business sells through conversation.
- Creative testing every week: new hooks, formats and messages.
- A monthly report in pesos showing what each contact cost and which creatives won.
Meta or Google? It depends on how people buy from you
Meta works best when what you sell is visual or people don't yet know they need it: tourism, vacation rentals, real estate, restaurants, visual products, seasonal offers or a brand that needs to be known. Google works best when the need already exists and people type it into the search bar: a plumber, a dentist, a lawyer. If your customer searches for you, start with Google; if you have to spark the desire, start with Meta. Many businesses end up using both.
How we charge
You pay ad spend directly to Meta, from an account in your business's name. We quote management, creative included, per account after a call where we review your field, who you sell to, how many campaigns and pieces per month make sense and how your measurement looks today. We don't publish a fixed rate because two accounts almost never need the same work. We work month to month.
- How much does a Meta Ads agency charge in Mexico?
- There's no standard rate. Agencies charge a flat fee, a percentage of ad spend, a hybrid or per lead. To compare, separate the ad spend you pay Meta, the management and the creative production, and check what each quote includes.
- How much does it cost to advertise on Facebook and Instagram?
- You set the budget, and Meta charges through an auction that depends on your audience, the season, the objective and ad quality. The reliable way to know your cost per contact is to measure it for one or two weeks in your own account.
- Is Meta Ads or Google Ads better for me?
- If people already search for what you sell, Google. If what you sell is visual, seasonal or needs to be made known, Meta. Many businesses use both.
